I know that experiencing anxiety in the mind and body and/or constantly questioning your worth can feel lonely and exhausting.

Holistic wellness counselling sessions with Emily are specifically tailored to you. These sessions are based on the four pillars of well being. Together we shall realign your health, bringing you realignment.

Reso holistic counselling is for you if you are interested in exploring wellness through a psychosomatic approach. In sessions, together we will actively embrace all aspects of your life including but not limited to; your thought life and nervous system. This will help recreate and enhance equilibrium and balance in your life.

I am passionate about the well being of women. You will step into a safe and loving space to bring everything to the table. Even those parts you think might be too much to talk about.

Whether you are looking for a one off session or ongoing support, I am here for you. My hope for Reso holistic counselling sessions is that you will learn to become centered mind and body, deeply love yourself and become aware of how worthy you are of feeling at home and safe in your mind and body. Sometimes we just need that person to stand beside us, guiding us in how to remember to breathe, connect and to be well.

 

Breathe

Changing the rhythm of your breath and posture reduces stress, depression and anxiety.

This is the foundation from which we build each session.

Connect

Your mind and body are intrinsically interconnected. Although your brain controls the body’s movement, the way you move affects the way you feel and think.

Movement/body connection is the building block for the next step of each session.

Be Well

Now that your nervous system has been calmed through breath and your body has let emotion move through it, it is time for real talk.

Holistic counselling uses CBT, goal setting, shadow work and other therapeutic techniques aligning all aspects of your life. We will work through what is affecting your mental health and find pathways and goals together to bring you back into wellness.

  • HI, I’M EMILY & THIS IS MY STORY

    I have been through many trials and triumphs in my own journey of wellbeing. At age 16 my self-esteem and body image declined. I felt helpless and lived with anxieties and fears of never being enough. I hit rock bottom and after living through an eating disorder in secrecy, I realised that something had to change. On a trip away with my best friend, I came across a book which changed my life. I learnt about breathing, mind and body connective movement and techniques to reshape my mind.

    I decided that enough is enough and by my own will, I embarked on a journey of re-aligning my body, mind, spirit, physical well being and relationships. It was a tough and intense journey, but the tools I have learnt have been life changing and have changed the course of meaning and purpose in my life. I still use these tools today. I believe there is no need to go through struggles alone. There is no shame in reaching out for help and support.

    Reso holistic counselling was born as I have found so much hope in the tools I have learnt. I love supporting people in their journey of healing. I know that people are in deep need of support, but are struggling to get access to services. I am a trained Social Worker specialising in Grief and Loss. In my training I learnt therapeutic and holistic skills. I have loved running Reso Retreats in America, Australia and New Zealand and providing space for women to breathe, connect and be well at retreats and then take those tools home as well.

    I am currently doing a Postgraduate diploma in Psychotherapy. Holistic wellbeing is my passion, and creating space for people to heal has become a part of my purpose.

    From my own personal and professional experience, I would love to journey with you into holistic well being through holistic custom counselling sessions.

  • ARE THESE SESSIONS CONFIDENTIAL?

    Yes. Everything you tell your counsellor is treated as strictly confidential. The only exception to this is when there is a threat to someone’s safety; either your own or somebody else’s.

    DO YOU DO SESSIONS FOR COUPLES?

    Yes upon request. Breath, movement and counselling can be beneficial for individual healing as well as couples healing and working through road blocks together. Quotes on request.

    HOW OFTEN DO SESSIONS OCCUR?

    Sessions usually occur weekly although sometimes more or less frequent sessions are more appropriate.

    HOW LONG ARE 1:1 SESSIONS?

    60 minutes.

    However, sometimes due to multiple factors, different durations can be negotiated in advance. For example

    60 minutes can go quite fast if emotional distress is high during coaching and a 90 minute or 2 hour session can feel more useful.

    Due to affordability and/or needs, some people opt for 30 - 45 minute sessions. Quoted on request.

    HOW DO I PAY

    I will send you an invoice via email. Direct bank deposit. Due 24 hours before the session.

    I AM NERVOUS ABOUT MAKING AN APPOINTMENT. CAN YOU TELL ME WHAT TO EXPECT?

    This is not uncommon. I would love to have a short phone call with you. I am happy to introduce myself and explain what the sessions entail.

    ARE SESSIONS AVAILABLE IN PERSON AND VIA ZOOM?

    Absolutely. I understand that in some cases people are unable to meet in person. Zoom sessions are a great way for you to be in a comfortable space for you.

    HOW ARE SESSIONS HELD DURING COVID RESTRICTIONS?

    All sessions will be outside until Covid restrictions ease. This is a great way to be in nature and get some fresh air. Otherwise sessions will be held on zoom.

    DO I STILL NEED TO PAY IF I CANCEL MY SESSION?

    We have a cancellation policy which requires full payment 24 hours before your session. If cancellation is made after this 24 hour period, a non-refundable 50% deposit will be kept. No-shows will incur the full fee.

    WHAT ARE YOUR OFFICE HOURS?

    9am - 7pm Monday - Friday

    Weekends/after hour appointments can be made upon request but are limited.

    WHAT DO I DO IF I WOULD LIKE TO DISCONTINUE WITH THE SESSIONS?

    If you would like to discontinue with your sessions, simply send Emily an email to let her know.

    DO YOU OFFER MENTAL HEALTH CRISIS SERVICES?

    These holistic counselling sessions are not designed to work with those going through emergency crisis. Please get in tough with the Mental Health Crisis Team in NZ.
